Policies

Facility Access

OIT manages access to NTS Data Center facilities using the U Card system and central security.

  • Approved NTS Data Center customers must escort all visitors at all times
  • Bi-annual review of NTS Data Center access is performed by OIT

Notifications and Maintenance

  • OIT provides a two-week notice for scheduled maintenance
  • OIT performs emergency maintenance at any time
  • Notifications are posted by OIT via e-mail, customers are responsible for informing OIT of any outage concerns

Safety

When working in the NTS Data Center environment the NTS safety manual must be followed.

  • Electrical work including circuit breaker trips are performed by NTS
  • No food or drink allowed
  • No combustible materials allowed
  • There is a 30-second window for egress prior to fire suppression or sprinkler release
  • "House Keeping" or clearing of packing materials and other debris takes place at the end of the work day
  • Report safety concerns to Technical Assistance Center (TAC) at 1-HELP (612) 301-4357
  • In case of emergency call 911
