Voice Common Good

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is implementing a change in the funding model for voice services. We are moving from an ISO charge-back model to an allocation-based "common good" model. Beginning July 1, 2007 recurring voice services are centrally funded.

This change better positions the University for the future integration of voice and data communications to create a single shared network. Having a single funding model for both voice and data services is an important first step toward future integration of these services.

Non-University funded customers using an agency fund and those who do not get charged via a University CUFS account, continue to be billed for recurring charges. Installation and new horizontal wiring costs remain the responsibility of the customer in the form of labor and material charges.
